Prince's plume has erect stems that can reach 5 feet tall in bloom. It has basal leaves that are blue-green, waxy, and smooth. At the top of the stem is a spike of many bright yellow flowers. This native member of the mustard family is a larval host plant for the Becker's white and checkered white butterflies.
