Reflective of her involvement, multiple agencies touched by Fuller’s life were present at the afternoon ceremony, including Project Bobcat, the Dark Skies Alliance, Joshua Tree National Park, the National Park Conservation Association, the Mojave Desert Land Trust, the Morongo Basin Conservation Association, Community ORV Watch, the Alliance for Responsible Recreation, the Center for Biological Diversity and the Morongo Basin Democratic Club. The celebration was hosted by Joshua Basin Water District.

Mojave Desert Land Trust Executive Director Danielle Segura said, “MDLT is disappointed and troubled by this Administration’s lack of commitment to take care of our Nation’s most pristine National Treasures. While funds are allocated for much needed backlog projects it reduces overall operational support and eliminates the bi-partisan supported Land and Water Conservation Fund, a primary tool of continued conservation for our Parks"

Mojave Desert Land Trust Executive Director Danielle Segura said her organization is “even more concerned about the growing threats to public land in the California desert.” She added that the fact that Bernhardt will be overseeing the same issues he lobbied for “is not only an ethical conflict, it is a conflict between him and the values of those who live in our desert communities"

Management decisions that prevented the project from continuing pending environmental review, he would not commit to recusing himself from profiting from past projects for his full term as Deputy Interior Secretary. Bernhardt also concluded that, though science will play a role in policy making, ultimately the Department of the Interior is “absolutely going to follow the policy perspective of the President” with respect to issues of climate change.
